How much CBD is actually in The Hemp Hacienda Drops, Lotions, and e-liquids?

You may be wondering how much CBD is actually in The Hemp Hacienda drops, lotions and e-liquids. To get the best out of using CBD oil supplements, it’s really important to understand how CBD is measured, and just what amount you get in the product you choose. The amount of product you get is marked as ml (millilitres), and the amount of CBD or ‘strength’ of the product is measured in mg (milligrams). This ‘strength’ measurement is something you are used to seeing on medicine packets and prescriptions; for example, paracetamol and ibuprofen are usually 500mg per tablet, or pain relief gel may be marked up as containing 5% or 10% of ibuprofen, menthol, or other oils.

All of the different numbers and percentages on product packaging may seem confusing at first, but once you get a little more familiar with them, you will soon be in control of organising your CBD oil dosage and purchases at a strength and amount that suits you best.

Oils and Tinctures

Oils and tinctures are supplied in dropper bottles in a range of strengths. Dropper bottles will state how much food safe carrier oil the product contains and how many mg of CBD is in the whole bottle. When choosing which product you want, it is easy to choose between products when all the bottles are the same size. The CBD amounts are stated because you know the higher the mg number, the higher the level of CBD. However, with different sized bottles it can become a little complicated because 100mg of CBD in a 100ml bottle is the same as 200mg of CBD in a 200ml bottle so it is important to check you are getting the strength. Some products also indicate the percentage of CBD; the percentage written as 5% means that 5% of the total amount of product is CBD oil, for example a 10 ml bottle, will provide 500mg of CBD goodness and 15% means that a 10 ml bottle contains a total of 1500 mg of CBD.

Capsules and Tablets

Capsule packaging will usually state the number of capsules in a bottle, how much CBD is in each capsule, and the total amount of CBD in the entire package.

Using our Medterra capsules as an example, we can see these are available in 2 strengths, 750 mg Medterra Capsules and 1500mg Medterra Capsules, and each are supplied in containers of 30 capsules; with the 750 mg option each capsule contains 25mg of CBD so the total amount of CBD in the product is 750mg (30 capsules x 25mg of CBD per capsule = 750 mg total of cbd oil). The 1500mg option contains 50mg of CBD in each capsule (30 capsules x 50mg of CBD per capsule= 1500mg of CBD in the entire product).

Many people prefer the ease of using capsules and tablets as the dose is accurate each time and can be counted into a pill case weekly to make sure you never miss a day by accident.

Balms, Lotions, and Creams

Balms, creams, massage oils, and lotions are a great way to deliver the benefits of CBD oil straight to the parts that need it most. The soothing qualities are easily absorbed through the skin to give immediate relief from soreness and pain and offer long-lasting nourishment to keep skin looking and feeling healthy and strong. These topical products will list the total amount of product being supplied, either as a weight in grams (50g or 100g), or as a volume in millilitres, such as 30ml or 100ml for example and will also list the total amount of CBD contained in the entire bottle or tube. Many tubes and bottles will also list what percentage of the total product is CBD- so our Clearly CBD Body Cream  is sold as 100ml of total product, containing 500mg of CBD oil- this is also marked as 5%.

Vape Liquids

Our wide range of e-liquids are available in a choice of refill size, mostly 10ml, 50ml, and 100ml and in a choice of CBD content per bottle; each bottle will state how many mg of CBD is in the entire bottle but remember that a higher mg number does not always mean a stronger product as it will depend on how much total liquid there is in total in the bottle.

Let’s look at it as if all bottles are 30ml and you can choose from 500mg, 1000mg, or 1500mg of CBD - we can easily see that the 1500mg choice has the highest level of CBD in, however, we also supply a 120 ml bottle that has a total of 3000mg of CBD, as this bottle is 4 times bigger the CBD needs to be divided by 4 to give you the mg of CBD per 30 ml- in this example that would work out to be 750mg of CBD per 30ml, so do take a few moments to check you are happy with the choice you are making, but if this is all a bit mind boggling and you just want a good vape, simply drop us an email and we will do all we can to guide you in the right direction!

Vape juice also states a metric listed as VG/PG- these are the initials of two food safe liquids that make up the carrier liquid for the CBD added during the manufacturing process. VG stands for Vegetable Glycerine and PG stands for Propylene Glycol, the total of these components will add up to 100 as they are a stated as a ratio or percentage with 100 representing a full unit.

60/40 is thought to be a general level for a satisfying vape, whereas 70/30 is often used by vapers that prefer a fuller flavour, a stronger throat hit, and a more generous vapour production.

With e-liquids, the vape experience comes down to personal choice, the equipment you use, and how well you tolerate CBD. We recommend trying a small bottle with a lower CBD level if you are new to these products and then if needed, move onto a product with a higher CBD oil level until you find the strength that you feel works better for you. It is also worth remembering the VG/PG levels as these will alter experience too. The only really difficult choice will be if you prefer apple muffinOG Lemon Kush,  Mr Pink or any other flavour from our comprehensive range!

We have produced a quick reference guide to help you find out how much CBD oil is in bottles of different sizes and different strengths. To use this chart, follow the left-hand column downwards to find the amount of mg of CBD stated on the bottle and then follow that row across until you find the size of the bottle in ml as listed across the top; the square where both quantities meet is the amount of CBD oil in mg per 1 ml of product.

For example, if you wanted to take a 25mg daily dose of CBD oil, you could buy 10ml bottle of 250mg oil, or a 20ml bottle of 500mg oil, a 30ml bottle of 750mg oil, a 40 ml bottle 1000mg oil, a 60ml bottle of 1500mg oil, or a 100 ml bottle of 6000mg oil and they would all provide 25mg of CBD oil per ml. 1 ml is approximately one drop of product.
